Ya Gotta Work

It's almost 2008!!!
(November 2007)

The last 14 months have seen a significant change in my career.  I had been working at Arizona Animal Wellness Center until September, but the pregnancy has made that difficult.  I simply get tired easily and with my work at NextCare, it was just too much.  As a result there are no links for where to find me - I am not practicing.  Many of you have asked when I plan to return to practice and the answer is, "I don't know.  I might not.  I lost the joy of practice - it was eaten up by clients with unrealistic expectations and my inability to find the practice I want to call home."  Arizona Animal Wellness came close to being home, but I was never going to have the autonomy I wanted.  I guess we'll just have to see how it is once the babies (aka "the goobers") get here.  I am really looking forward to being a mom and the rest will just have to come with time.

Currently I recommend my clients to:

Arizona Animal Wellness Center
3317 South Higley Road - Suite 101
Gilbert, AZ 85297
480-988-3660
(SE Corner of Higley and Pecos)

and

McQueen Veterinary Clinic

Chandler, AZ 85225

(NE Corner of McQueen and Pecos)

You will find a hyperlink to an e-mail on the homepage of this website.  Write me anytime, I'd love to hear how you are doing.  One rule:  Please do not ask me to diagnose or recommend treatment for your pet.  To do so would not only be in violation of my license, but also unfair to your pet as nothing can replace the benefit of a good physical exam and history.  There is an excellent website you can access for generalized information about your pets health and diseases.
It is www.VeterinaryPartner.com  Check it out, I think you'll like what you find.

For those of you curious about my NextCare duties...I am the Dispensing Coordinator for NextCare Urgent Care.  Yep, people medicine.  Essentially, I oversee the in-clinic dispensing program.  If you are seen at a NextCare and the provider writes a script for you, you have two options:  take it to the pharmacy or if it is an item we carry, you may fill it on-site.  Our on-site dispensing program is strictly cash-pay (we don't bill insurance, except in worker's comp cases) and you usually have your med within 5 minutes.  I don't know about you all, but I hate to wait at the pharmacy for my meds - especially when I feel poorly to start.  The position started out as an eight week commitment, but that was 14 months ago.  Funny, how that happens sometimes.  I enjoy the work and while I miss my patients, it's never as stressful (as practice) and no one ever dies on my watch.
